Polyisobutylene presents unique dynamic and thermodynamic properties for a polyolefin.  Most blends of polyolefins demonstrate thermodynamic properties that follow a simple idea wherein the blend interactions are dominated by dispersive interactions and these dispersive interactions are dependent on the cohesive energy density of the polymer and is manifested in parameters such as the chain flexibility.  Polyisobutylene, on the other hand, as a blend component with other polyolefins and other families of polymers behaves uniquely:  significantly deviating from the predictions of dispersive interactions and demonstrating attractive thermodynamic interactions.  Using a broad range of experimental data sets and following molecular modeling methods, we provide a foundational basis to understand the thermodynamic interactions associated with blends of polyisobutylene.<br/>
