Metal phthalocyanines (MPcs) have been widely explored in gas sensing devices due to their reversible binding and high sensitivity towards the detection of a plethora of gases including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), NOx species, chlorine, bromine, methane, CO and ammonia, among others, at ppm and ppb levels and under relatively high humidity environments. This flexibility in sensing different gases arises from the affinity of the metal at the center of the Pc ligand platform to coordinate the particular gas molecules based on its chemical composition. Another great advantage of MPcs over other materials is their suitability to create different nanostructures, such as wires, particles and thin films, which is highly dependent on the substituents in the phthalocyanine ligands. In this work, we explore the sensing capability of metal phthalocyanines when changing metal center, substituents in the periphery of the ligand, architecture of the nanostructure and chemical composition of the electrodes in which the materials are deposited. For the synthesis of MPcs nanowires, nanoparticles and thin films, we used unsubstituted MPc and platforms and perfluorinated MPc (F<sub>16</sub>-MPcs). These nanostructures were connected to gold four-point probe electrodes using platinum connections by use of a SEM/Focused Ion Beam (FIB). We will report specifically on the MPcs nanomaterials' selectivity and sensitivity towards NOx and ammonia.<br/>
