Exciton polaritons—hybrid exciton-photon quasi-particles—provide an exciting platform to design new optoelectronic functionalities. Here we report a novel optical system by integrating Sn and Pb based 2D perovskites with high-quality plasmonic nanoparticle arrays, which can support the hybridization between exciton and surface lattice resonance (SLR). Compare with pristine perovskite, 10-fold enhancement in emission intensity as well as peak shift following SLR modes are observed in hybrid structure. Rapid energy transfer from excitons to hybrid states is characterized with time-resolved photoluminescence and transient absorption spectroscopy. We directly visualize polariton transport via transient absorption microscope with ~300 fs temporal and ~50 nm spatial precision. With the flexibility of tuning both plasmonic modes and exciton resonances, this hybrid material platform can be expanded to a wide range of energies covering visible spectrum, with potentials for applications ranging from solar cells to quantum information.
