In this presentation, the Cu2O and Cu2O/rGO nanocomposites were successfully synthesized through a simple chemical method followed by the sonication process.The CuCl2, ascorbic acid, and NaOH have the constant volume but only varying the NaCl (X=0, 3, 5, and 7 mmol) volume concentration by adding to a 5 ml water to generate Cu2O nanocubes, which produced average size of nanocubes to be 25, 36, 72, and 86 nm by just stirring 10 min only. Furthermore, the four as-prepared nanosized Cu2O nanocubes (NC) react with a similar percentage of 10 mg RGO nanosheets by constant sonication for 20 minutes. Then, the electrochemical performance has been determined for all as prepared electrode materials, such as pre-standing Cu2O-NC (0), Cu2O-NC (3), Cu2O-NC (5), and Cu2O-NC (7). Comparatively, the sonochemical preparation of hybrid electrode materials of Cu2O-NC (0)/RGO, Cu2O-NC (3)/RGO, Cu2O-NC (5)/RGO, and Cu2O-NC (7)/RGO were denoted. Among them, the Cu2O-NC (7)/RGO electrode displays the best electrochemical performance due to the pseudocapacitive nature of Cu2O nanocubes combining with the EDLCs properties of RGO nanosheets, where the percentage of Cu2O was higher. This interesting electrode structure plays a key role in offering to facilitate ion transport, short ion and electron diffusion pathways, and more active sites for electrochemical reactions. This electrode has demonstrated an excellent electrochemical performance with a specific capacitance of 431 Fg−1at 1 Ag-1and 70% of this capacitance retains when operated at an ultrafast rate of 30 Ag-1.
