A series of Fe(III) complexes was recently reported that are active for photocatalytic hydrogen generation when paired with fluorescein and triethylamine. When immobilized on TiO<sub>2</sub> and SrTiO<sub>3</sub>, the complexes are significantly more active than the homogeneous system, achieving up to 7800 turnovers in 31 hours. Herein we discuss the effect that ligand length (distance from the semiconductor) plays on catalysis and explore different anchoring groups for immobilization.
