Artemisinin is herbal drug mainly used for control of malaria. The mode of action of this drug is not well understood. However, many reports suggest involvement of the endo-peroxide bridge of the artemisinin in the overall mechanism of action. In this work, we investigated the re-organization of artemisinin and its derivatives initiated by temperature increase. Artemisinin, artesunate, artemether and dehydroartemisinin molecules were examined using LC/MS, NMR at ambient conditions as well as at 37oC. Increase in temperature from 25OC to 37oC resulted in new chromatographic peaks. The results of molecular structural re-organization of these molecules and their activity are discussed.
