<br/>An increasing number of people are suffering from eye problems with excessive eye exposure to blue light generated by mobile phones, light-emitting diodes, and televisions. Curcumin (Cur), an active ingredient extracted from the rhizome of Curcuma longa, exhibits beneficial properties, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and chemopreventive. However, its application is extremely limited in the retina because of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells, known as the outer blood–retinal barrier. Natural borneol (NB), one terpene and bicyclic organic compound, could enhance drug permeability and improve drug bioavailability. The objective of this work was to evaluate the ability of NB to synergize with Cur to protect RPE cells from blue light-induced death in RPE cells. The results demonstrated that NB could effectively synergize with Cur to attenuate blue light-induced RPE cells death. NB could enhance the accumulation of Cur in RPE cells. Moreover, Cur suppressed intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in RPE cells induced by blue light. These results revealed that the combination treatment with Cur and NB could protect against blue light-induced RPE cells damage, suggesting potential application of Cur and NB as a promising treatment strategy for retinal diseases.<br/>
