The orientation of semi-crystalline polymers has been of great interest because of the enhancement of the mechanical properties after orientation. In this work, a two-dimensional fibrillar structure was developed by producing composite tapes from a unique co-extrusion and multiplication technique. The composite tapes were made of PP and HDPE fibrils with desirable adhesion between the two components. Structure-property relationships of the highly orientable PP/HDPE composite tapes were studied relative to different orientation conditions, fibril domain size, and structure evolution during orientation. The solid-state structure of PP/HDPE composite tapes was characterized by AFM, SEM, and WAXS. The relationships between orientation, mechanical properties, and solid-state structure were established. The mechanical properties of oriented PP/HDPE composite tapes achieved Young’s modulus of 15 GPa and tensile strength of 763 MPa.<br/>
