Rutaecarpine, a quinazolinone natural product (NP), is known to possess important biological activities. As a part of medchem project, we generated the analogues of Rutaecarpine from the tricyclic intermediates obtained through microwave condensation of isatoic anhydride and various lactams. The chemistry and bio-assays of this NP based library will be presented.
