The synthesis of 2,5-Dimrthyl-1-phenylpyrrole has been reported and practiced in undergraduate organic laboratory experiments. In this study we describe our efforts to by applying a series of para-substituted aniline derivatives to react with 2,5-hexanedione under microwave irradiation. The experiment allows students to work and characterize of their own unknown products with IR and <sup>1</sup>H NMR.
