The metal-organic framework (MOF) materials have made tremendous contribution to the development of new kinds of solid-state materials.1 The MOFs are crystalline and highly stable hybrid micro-/meso- porous solid materials that results from the reaction of organic linkers and suitable metal-cations to build a 3D-cluster network structures. The MOF materials are also known for their high porosity and large surface area and their components permits for immobilizing various organic and organometallic moieties on the MOF-surface.2 Here, we focus on a class of nano-sized functionalized UiO-66 based MOF-materials, which exhibit promising properties that potentially meet the requirements for highly active heterogeneous catalysts for a variety of organic transformation such as cross-coupling reactions (C-C and C-heteroatom etc.), C-H activation process and oligomerization of ethylene.3 Herein, we describe a recyclable and highly active nickel catalyst immobilized on UiO66-MOF for Suzuki-Miyaura reactions and MOF-immobilized palladium catalyst for and Buchwald-Hartwig amination reactions, which operates under mild conditions. The nature of the heterogeneous nano-sized MOF-catalysts were verified through a series of analytical techniques and catalysis experiments. The immobilized catalyst was recoverable and reusable for several cycles without losing in the yield of the coupled product.
