The UAB Student Affiliate of the American Chemical Society has a long history of instilling a sense of community within the Chemistry Department, across the campus, and around the Birmingham community. Within the department, activities we offer include Study with SAACS, which provides free tutoring to students in lower division courses, and a free lunch to honor the faculty and staff during National Chemistry Week. Activities that reach across the UAB campus include Mad Scientist Day, held during both the fall and spring semesters, ACS Programs in a Box, movie nights, and a wide variety of evening talks aimed at providing UAB students with professional development no matter their career interests.  Finally, we offer outreach to the Birmingham community through Mad Scientist Day Jr. and volunteering at the McWane Science Center, both aimed at encouraging children to get involved with science. This talk will highlight these activities and provide insight to their planning and execution.<br/>
