A series of tris(pyrazolyl)methane ligands have been synthesized using two different approaches.  In the first approach, the parent ligand is selectively substituted at the five position of the pyrazole rings.   In the second, novel pyrazoles are used to synthesize the ligands.  The ligands haven reacted with Group (VI) hexacarbonyl metal complexes.  The resulting tungsten, molybdenum and chromium have been characterized by IR. <br/>
