We are the ACS student chapter organization at CSU Stanislaus where we proudly present ourselves as the Warriors Chemistry Club. CSU Stanislaus is located in the Central Valley of California in the city of Turlock. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for all students, science-oriented and nonscience-oriented students, to become better acquainted with all aspects of the field of chemistry. More recently, we have been initiating an environment for all the science-oriented clubs (Computer Science, Biology, Mathematics, Nursing, and Physics) on campus to come together and support each other as fellow STEM clubs and as STEM students. We feel that the unity of these clubs provides encouragement from a different perspective that encourages students to stay on the path to graduate with their STEM degree. These aspects include becoming knowledgeable of recent advances in research, establishing relationships with science faculty at CSU Stanislaus, developing a professional pride in chemistry, and reaching out to the broader community. The club seeks to bring awareness of chemistry by organizing social events, workshops, and outreach. The club provides students the opportunity to discover and interact with not only chemistry majors but also professionals in the field of chemistry. We organize tours of industry sites, research labs, and graduate schools to provide insight on how chemistry is applied to the world beyond our college. We also hold study sessions twice a month to help students in their chemistry courses and to provide an enriching environment where students can connect with peers and professors that share similar interests. We find that these sessions not only provide students with the confidence that aids academic success but also social success in the form of building new networks with peers they may have never associated with. We have also been hosting the ACS webinars of the <i>Program-in-the-Box </i>to provide more opportunities for the students to learn more about different fields in chemistry. In the future, we hope to collaborate with other student chapters in order to foster and strengthen relationships amongst us.
