Significant impetus for the inclusion of green and sustainable chemistry practices in educational environments across the globe has been facilitated via the creation of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. This talk will outline specific and in-depth examples of transferrable green chemistry resources that have been developed or where development is ongoing where systems thinking approaches to learning have been embraced in the context of the UN SDGs. Emphasis will be placed on practical laboratory experiments that have applicability from the high school level to graduate study. Particular focus will be placed on working with students as partners as part of their degree programme to cohesively design resources by students and for students. Furthermore, opportunities to introduce other areas of chemistry and related fields through the introduction of green chemistry via utilizing systems thinking approaches will be highlighted, enabling students to gain an interdisciplinary and lateral understanding of subject matter while considering associated societal and ethical contexts.
