A geminal Rh-mediated <sup>18</sup>F-oxyfluorination of diazoketones has been developed using an electrophilic hypervalent iodine-based reagent. The reactions were carried out in short reaction times and typically mild conditions, affording radiochemical yields up to 98%. A preparative-scale experiment afforded a molar activity of 296 GBq/mmol.
