Promoting an inclusive community is very important in STEM since these areas lack diversity the most. Thus, it is crucial that we disseminate STEM knowledge to people from diverse backgrounds. This brings us to the importance of effective science communication and pedagogy. In order to expose the graduate students to these avenues, Princeton offers a University administrative fellowship (UAF) program. This talk discusses some activities of the UAF program in informal science and how these events promote audience engagement while conveying basic scientific concepts. The primary goal of these activities is to encourage young people from all backgrounds to pursue science. I will also discuss my journey to science communication and outreach to stimulate more graduate student participation in spreading STEM knowledge to the broader community.
