In this poster we present strategies for systematic variation of substituents at the bridgehead position of the diarylnorbornadiene skeleton. We show how the substituents affect the kinetic stability of the quadricyclanes formed from the [2+2] photochemical cycloaddition of these compounds. Information from these studies can be used in the design of materials for applications in solar energy storage.
