Chemistry Club at University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) strives to provide the opportunities for students to get to know one another and their professors while also providing students additional tools to further their success after graduation. Over the past year, we have focused on increasing student involvement, fundraising, social events, and volunteering activities. To increase student involvement, we handed out flyers with meeting times and advertised over social media. Speakers for club meetings demonstrated available opportunities to increase awareness of careers you can have with a chemistry degree. Funds were raised from sales of T-shirts, ACS Study Guides, and safety goggles. Our volunteering activities included helping to host experimental demos at the Science Museum Oklahoma for National Chemistry Week and prepare meals at the OKC Regional Food Bank. Social events hosted by Chemistry Club include a Chemistry-themed escape room, Get-to-Know-You bingo, ACS Program-In-A-Box (PIB) livestreams, and Chemistry Café.
