Lobo Chemistry Club represents the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque Main Campus is a successful and expanding Student Chapters of the American Chemical Society. With 25 diverse, active members studying chemistry, chemical engineering, and biochemistry, we are able to reach a wide audience in both the local and STEM communities. Members participate in various outreach activities with the purpose of inspiring the next generation of researchers, instructors, and advocates for science while also teaching basic scientific concepts. Community activities consist of chemistry performances, interactive educational demonstrations, and UNM campus events, whose audiences range from elementary school students to adults. The club also creates a space for members to build community among the undergraduate student body and to network with professionals currently involved in chemistry research at the University of New Mexico, as well as at other scientific institutions in the area, notably Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories.
