Trocheliophorolide A is a natural product isolated from soft coral found in the Red Sea. The compound exhibits antimicrobial properties against <i>Staphylococcus areus</i>. Its highly unsaturated side chain is a rare construct for natural butenolide molecules. Our convergent route focuses on constructing this novel side chain and coupling it via cross-coupling methods to the butenolide moiety. This presentation will address progress made toward the formation of the challenging functionalized unsaturated side chain.<br/>
