We examine the electronic structure raminfication of single element substitution on open-shell clusters. Specifically, we examine how alkoxide, imido, and alkylidyne substitution on iron-clusters significantly alters ground state electronic architectures. Remarkably, the alkylidyne complex series is unique comparing geometric and electronic structure changes across redox series.
