This presentation will discuss a new type of perylene substitution that bends it along its long axis to a bow. The result of this bending (and the groups that do the bending) is that the excited states of the molecular system can be tuned. Certain derivatives have singlet and triplet energies that are now favorable to allow singlet fission to occur. The presentation will discuss the methodology to make oligomers and other materials from these molecules.
