Our chapter needed a change based on feedback from our advisors and the chapter report reviewers from the past year. We were at a low point. Realizing this, the new officers for Erskine College ACS chapter shifted focus to enhancing the chapter’s presence on campus while still maintaining its previous focus in off-campus outreach. Our numbers needed to increase, both member numbers and activities. Communication, coordination, and collaboration were key in this process. Communication was improved through interest meetings expressing our beliefs and goals to our members and through consistent communication with messaging and email platforms. Regular chapter and officer meetings were held weekly and this improved coordination of events. Members are asked to take an active role in both the planning and execution of events alongside the officers. As collaboration within our chapter improved, we began to collaborate with other organizations. We partnered with the Visual Arts Society of Erskine (VASE) at the local STEAM Festival and with Erskine’s AED chapter. Using our newly set goals, communication, coordination, and collaboration, we hope to bring our chapter back from the ashes.
