Labflow is an online learning platform purpose-built for lower-division lab courses. While activities and content for pre-lab preparation of students and learning analytics are key benefits of the platform, new capabilities include digital capture of lab notes, data input, and lab report submission features. These elements can transform both the in-lab and post-lab student experience through persistent real-time instructional feedback. In addition, the auto-grading of calculations and results, as well as a streamlined grading interface for hand-graded portions of the lab report, significantly reduces grading effort and improves consistency across sections. Workflow and analytic tools improve the movement of information between students, instructors/TAs,and coordinators and transparency of the teaching and learning process within lab courses. This session will demonstrate the lab report submission, grading, and workflow capabilities of Labflow, and how they can impact student learning, and improve the coaching of hired in-lab instructors and TAs. Additionally, we will discuss how auto-grading and improved grading visibility exposes student challenges within the lab curriculum and facilitates data-driven iteration of the lab manual and experimental protocols.
