The American Chemical Society student chapter at University of Texas of The Permian Basin actively impacts and promotes chemistry throughout the community of the Permian Basin. The members that take part in the ACS chapter here at UTPB share their widespread knowledge and love of chemistry by taking part in several chemistry based activities and volunteering such as our outreach demonstration that promotes chemistry to our local elementary schools, helping clean the local gardens in on our campus, and creating chemistry fun activities at our Halloween carnival. We as a club also partake in fundraising by selling ACS student study guides and having an occasional bake sell at our local Halloween carnival. In addition as an ACS chapter we help strive for each student taking or majoring in chemistry by holding group study sessions ranging from upper level courses to freshman based chemistry along with socials such as game nights and football tailgates to recruit more members around campus.
