N,N-chelating ligands are used extensively and have found broad application in the areas of coordination chemistry and catalysis. To that end, we have synthesized a new pyridylformamidine ligand as described. This new ligand is complexed to multiple metals whose structures are reported. Also, initial attempts to use the new ligand in catalysis will be described.
