The coordination chemistry of transuranium elements is heavily understudied compared to the rest of the periodic table. Using the lanthanides as non-radioactive analogues can be beneficial to modeling the chemistry of transuranium elements due to the stability of the trivalent oxidation state. A mixed donor ligand is studied with the lanthanide series (excluding promethium), plutonium, americium, and californium. The synthesis, solid-state UV-Vis spectroscopy, and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies will be discussed throughout the elements and compared to one another.
