Due to their chemical composition, metal organic frameworks (MOFs) can potentially be used to design electrical and proton conductors. With their physical structure being robust yet porous, there are many industrial uses for MOFs, such as solar cells, drug delivery, and storage of gases. Although there are many approaches to making and utilizing MOFs, the specific ligand that is used can be the major difference in each characteristic and structure. This presentation will present the structure and properties of phosphonate based MOFs that we recently synthesized using the DHBP ligand.
