As a kind of new materials, porous coordination polymers (PCPs), in which inorganic ions or clusters and organic units are assembled together by strong bond, had received worldwide attention during past several decade years. Owe to their diverse structure, large surface area and uniform pore size, PCPs can be potentially used in various fields such as adsorption, separation, photoluminescence, magnetism, catalysis, and so on. The mixture of zinc acetate, pyrazine, 5-benzyl tetrazole, 1,3,5-tris (4-carboxyphenyl) benzene, methanol, N-N'-dimethylformamide (DMF), ethanolamine and tetramethylammonium bromide was placed into a 20ml-vial and kept 48 hours under 90 <sup>o</sup> C to synthesize a porous crystalline materials. Single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system of <i>C2/c</i> space group and exhibits a 2-fold interpenetrated three-dimensional network. The result of dye adsorption demonstrates that the porous coordination polymer shows a satisfactory adsorption effect on methylene blue. The release process is monitored by UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Based on the measure of IR and XRD, the synthesized material can maintain stability of structure after adsorbing methylene blue.
