C-H activation has proven to be a powerful method to convert both complex as well as feedstock chemicals into new products. Native amine directing groups have traditionally served as poor substrates for site-selective directed C-H activation. We have therefore explored new ways of performing ortho-C-H activation of benzylamines, either through use of transient directing groups or more potent oxidizers, allowing the synthesis of new C-C and C-halogen bonds.<br/>
