Federal Courts are unique in that they have nationwide jurisdiction in a variety of areas, including patent laws. Almost all cases involving patent rights that are heard by Federal Courts originate in District Courts and at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Discussed in this presentation will be an overview of various recent cases that have been decided in Federal Courts, and the impact of these cases on intellectual property rights. This talk will specifically examine cases that specifically impact intellectual property rights of innovators and scientists in the chemical arts space.
