At the University of Kent, we believe in the transformative power of library collections. Students ability to recognize themselves in our collections is key to securing their trust and creating a sense of belonging. Through recent, ongoing engagement with our academic community around our library collections, we have put forward a wide call for UK universities to 'decolonize' their curricula in support of this belief. This work has established a clear and visible role for the library as part of a process of curriculum change.
 
 Through a collaboration at the University called Diversity Mark, we have enhanced academic conversations around issues of diversity of knowledge reflected in our teaching and research. With the aim to visibly reflect a greater proportion of global knowledge through our collections, this work arguably contributes to enhanced experience for our diverse academic community, including students, and supports our research community to discover diverse and marginalized perspectives.
