 Abstract Body:
 "Introduction: Representation of diverse patient populations in prostate cancer clinical trials is essential to ensure that trial results are applicable to all. California mandated electronic reporting (e-path) of structured data elements to the California Cancer Registry (CCR) from pathologists diagnosing cancer thereby creating an opportunity to identify and approach patients more rapidly, compared to traditional cancer surveillance models, after a new diagnosis of cancer. This study tested the utility of an online, bilingual (English and Spanish) clinical trial matching tool (called Trial Library) used in combination with e-path to improve matching of underrepresented patients into prostate cancer clinical trials at time of diagnosis.
 
 Methods: This was a nonrandomized, single-arm feasibility study among patients with a new pathologic diagnosis of high-risk prostate cancer (Gleason Score >8). Eligible patients were sent bilingual recruitment materials and enrolled patients were introduced to Trial Library. Participants completed baseline and follow-up surveys. 
 
 Results: A total of 419 ECA case listings were assessed. Patients were excluded due to physician contraindication, not meeting baseline eligibility, or unable to be reached. Final participants (N=52) completed a baseline survey. Among study participants, 77% were White, 10% were Black/Hispanic/Missing, and 14% were Asian. The majority of the study participants were over 65 years of age (81%) and Medicare insured (62%). Additionally, 81% of participants reported using the Internet to learn about prostate cancer and 62% discussed Internet health information with a clinician. However, 77% did not discuss a clinical trial with a clinician. Twenty-one (48%) of patients were likely to recommend Trial Library to a friend of family member and 14 (33%) reported being satisfied with the website. The majority (62%) of participants reported that Trial Library increased their interest in clinical trial participation. 
 
 Conclusions: The current study demonstrated that leveraging an early case ascertainment system based on structured e-path data reporting to a population-based cancer registry to recruit men with high risk prostate cancer to clinical research is feasible and acceptable and may be linked with an online clinical trial matching tool, Trial Library. However, to truly facilitate effective early case ascertainment and more rapid reporting of cancer data, patient sociodemographic and address information is essential to include in e-path reporting."
