During this research project, a hybrid material consisting of an organometallic species MOF and a carbonaceous material CM from the peach bone was synthesized. In addition, the recovery of the metallic species of Zn2+ in aqueous solution was studied, by the adsorption technology. The study was for the two materials, the peach bone charcoal and the hybrid material MOF@CM. Subsequently, the mass balance and characterization analysis were done to see how the adsorbent properties of the hybrid material with respect to the carbon improved. The studies has been in batch experiments and fixed bed packed columns. The adsorbent properties of the MOF-CM hybrid material with respect to the carbon were improved. The results showed a superior performance for the hybrid MOF-CM material increasing the adsorption capacity qmax by 150% than CM.
