Chemists must constantly seek new techniques to improve laboratory efficiency and productivity.  This poster demonstrates the use of an atmospheric pressure solids analysis probe (ASAP), to monitor chemical reaction progress.  The probe is used to acquire the mass spectra of the reaction mixture in less than one minute without reaction cleanup.  The ASAP is also used to monitor the fractions obtained during reaction cleanup using SPE devices.  To illustrate the use of these tools in improving the workflow and efficiency in the synthesis lab, reductive amination and amide formation reactions were used to synthesize a variety of aromatic compounds.
