Experimental procedures are being explored in the preparation and characterization of yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) type superconductors.  Previous results from boron, beryllium and lithium doping experiments at Henderson State University have shown that at dopant concentrations less than 2.0% and greater than 5.0% there is an undesirable decrease in the critical temperature.  However, at boron, beryllium and lithium concentrations in the vicinity of 2.5% there appears to be a small increase in the critical temperature, which is very desirable.  The purpose of this project is to explore the effects of doping YBCO superconductors with small amounts of carbon nanotubes.  Experimental procedures and results to date will be discussed.
