An improved sorbent for the treatment of high-level nuclear waste at the Savannah River Site is under development to replace the baseline material currently used in the Actinide Removal Process (ARP) facility and planned for use in the Salt Waste Processing Facility (SWPF), which is under construction.  This paper will present recently completed testing, which included evaluating the effect of radiation on the performance of the material, the extent to which separated radioisotopes may desorb from the material during washing, and gas release measurements during transport and storage conditions.  Testing also evaluated the feasibility of an in-tank deployment of the material under reduced mixing conditions.
