This past year, the Interamerican University's chemistry student association (AEQ) participated in the Chemistry Festival which was celebrated during the SERMACS meeting, where we participated with other students associations from all around the island, named: Chemistry is Elemental.  Our chapter performed demonstrations on the Nitrogen element and held several activities with the general public about the different phases of nitrogen and how it works in the nature.  AEQ visited various industries to show students how a chemist performs in the industry.  The AEQ also performed different community service activities like beach cleaning efforts, visiting kids at the hospital, the elderly at care homes and chemistry demonstrations in schools to get students motivated into a lifetime career in science, specifically chemistry.  We held our classical annual chemistry Olympics and we were pioneers in our University into mixing chemistry with sports, with the First Interamerican University Volleyball Cup called �Chemistry Cup� where we oriented high school students players the importance of pursuing science careers in life.  Also we maintained our last year project of the urban garden and joined forces with a biology professor to set up various recycling stations all around campus for cans, plastic and paper.
