In an attempt to spread enthusiasm and interest in chemistry in the San Diego area, the Student Chapter of the ACS at Point Loma Nazarene University provided programs to students at Wilson Middle School, Tri-City Christian High School, and the San Diego CHEM EXPO.  Eighth graders at Wilson Middle School were presented with some basics of chemistry, including the periodic table, differences between physical and chemical changes, and hands-on demonstrations.  We also welcomed students of Tri-City Christian High School from Vista, CA to our institution for tours, laboratory experience, and presentations about instruments used in laboratory and research.  Students understanding of these lessons were assessed using multiple choice quizzes. The San Diego CHEM EXPO is a San Diego Section ACS event that takes place annually in recognition of National Chemistry Week.  Pictures from the events, quiz results, and discussions of the effectiveness of classroom sessions will be presented.
