The morphology and structure of full length resilin biopolymer, a natural elastic protein that functions as a perfect �super elastic rubber� in specialized body regions of many insects, is discussed in this work. A thermal energy input method was used to investigate the transitions and structural changes of the synthetic full length resilin protein. A systematic pathway for studying this mechanism is organized by using TMDSC, real-time FTIR, synchrotron real-time X-ray, and AFM. The results of this approach provided structural information about these proteins which could be widely useful for future applications as elastomeric biopolymer materials.
