In preparation for a career in research, the author engaged in summer internships in Cambridge, UK (Physics), California Institute of Technology (Chemistry), Harvard Medical School (Biomedical sciences), and Indus Pharmaceuticals. These hallowed institutions conduct much wonderful work and have motivated the author to engage in several projects that contributed to science and medicine. Results of how work on flow chemistry (Steven Ley), olefin metatheses (Robert Grubbs), biological assays (Vikas Sukhatme), and gene cloning (Manivasakam) created inspiration and passion for medical research and entrepreneurship will be discussed.
