The wordplay'NO' by Carl Djerassi and Pierre Laszlo portrays the woes and decisions thatmodern scientists must endure and make to further our understanding of the world.The story of the playful 30-minute reading is set in the present with 3 voices--an organic chemist, a biochemist, and a venture capitalist discussing how to raise money for a 'hot' research topic - the biological applications of nitric oxide. It ends in style with an amazing rap, written by Erik Weiner. 'NO' was presented in Madison by students as part of their work with the Wisconsin Initiative for Science Literacy (www.scifun.org)
