A regioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between a nitrile imine and an enamine is described for the preparation of a PPar a, ? agonist and COX-2 inhibitor (celecoxib).  Practical and scalable preparations of nitrile imine precursors is also discussed.
