Transparent and conducting tin oxide thin films are of considerable interest for many electrical and photoelectrical applications, such as various conductive oxide electrodes. In particular, mesoporous tin oxide film allows the incorporation of electrochemically active species to increase electrical conductivity. In this study, Sb doped mesoporous thin tin oxide films were prepared on the silica plate by a sol�gel route using stannous chloride and antimony alkoxide as starting materials. Steric acid and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMABr) were used as surfactants to control porosity. IR, XRD, FESEM, FETEM, UV�vis and four-point probe measurement were used to characterize sol�gel chemistry, structure, morphologies, optical and electrical properties.
