The compound 4-aminothiophenol is a bidentate ligand. However, unlike its isomer 2-aminothiophenol, it's donor groups are 180o away from each other. This difference allows the ligand to be a less effective chelating agent and a more effective linker ligand. Reactivity of trans-bidentate ligand with metal will be studied at different temperature and characterization will be done by IR, NMR and UV-vis spectroscopy.  The study of complexation nature of 4-aminothiophenol with Fe (II) and Fe (III) is currently ongoing.
