Allyl palladium complexes are valuablesynthetic intermediates in organic chemistry. Moreover, in catalyzed reactionsit is thought that ?3-allyl-Pd-L2complexes are formed as intermediates, where L = monodentate phosphine or L2= bisphosphine. These complexes are known to catalyze aryl amination reactionsto form carbon-nitrogen bonds in the presence of an inorganic base. However, thereis not much literature available, to the best of our knowledge, using imidazolyland pyridyl phosphine complexes, where the basic nitrogen might help thecatalysis, as seen in other organic transformations1. Imidazolyl and pyridyl phosphines reactwith the dimeric (allyl)(chloro)palladium precursor to form complexes which canbe used for catalysis. So far we have synthesized 12 different heterocyclicphosphine palladium complexes.
