We at the University of Houston are proud to recognize Mamie Moy for her exceptional service in encouraging women in careers in the chemical sciences throughout her 58 years in the chemistry department.  As the only woman faculty member in the department for many years, she mentored generations of female graduate and undergraduate students to successful careers while serving as Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies.  She established the Np chapter of Iota Sigma Pi for women chemists and her impact was amplified through her education of other faculty on good practices for fostering the future careers of their female students.  Supporters have established a Professor Mamie Moy UH Presidential Endowed Scholarship for future students.
