In 2012, The Pennsylvania State University will be hosting the 22nd Biennial Conference on Chemical Education.  The theme of our conference is �Education for Everyone,� reflecting Penn State's sesquicentennial celebration of the College Land Grant Act.  This legislation was signed in 1862 by President Lincoln and was enacted to �promote the liberal and practical education of the industrial classes in the several pursuits and professions in life.�  In addition to traditional key note speakers, symposia, and workshops that focus on varying aspects of chemical education, we will also be holding a special historical symposium on the history of our Land Grant University.  In keeping with our theme, we will be hosting a Demonstration Extravaganza; a student-focused chemistry demonstration competition across different age groups from middle school, high school, and college to bring chemistry education to a wider range of people.
