The reactions of open shell and multiple bonded compounds of the heavier main group elements with numerous small molecules, for example hydrogen, ammonia, hydrazine, amines, olefins, isonitriles, nitroxides, and oxygen will be the main topic of this lecture. Some isomerization reactions undergone by products of these additions will also be discussed as well as the reactions of related metal hydrides with olefins.
